Retablo

It tells the story of Segundo, a young man from Ayacucho trained by his father in the art of the retablo. His world falls apart upon discovering a family secret within a traditional society.

It is one of the most acclaimed productions in Peruvian cinema, with more than 30 international accolades: winner of the prestigious Teddy Award for Best First Feature at the Berlin Film Festival (2018), nominated for the BAFTA Award (2020), the Independent Spirit Awards (2020), and the Goya Award (2020). It also represented Peru in the race for the 2020 Academy Awards.
