A film adaptation of the stage play of the same name, which premiered at the Espacio Cultural Kontenedores in 2019. Once again starring Pedro Olórtegui and Bañuelos himself, it keeps its impeccable comedic rhythm intact while expanding its visual language into the audiovisual format.
After a remarkable run through multiple international film festivals, the piece achieved a major commercial milestone when it was selected for global distribution by Colin Laviola, the renowned film sales agent and Emmy Award-winning producer, under the 7 Palms Entertainment label.
The original stage play (2019), written by Asier Andueza as a free adaptation of "Como quien le pide sal al vecino," follows the hilarious encounter between two neighbors who, after a seemingly ordinary request, end up entangled in a web of uncomfortable truths and absurd situations. Carlos Bañuelos brought the essence of Spanish microtheater to rewrite, direct, and star in the story to great success: his stage precision made the piece the favorite of the circuit, beating out 14 other productions and earning the award for Best Production of the season.
