He has more than 40 years of experience in the arts. He began as an actor in 1980s television, and after graduating as a film director from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, he has taken part in more than 30 theatre, television and film productions as an actor, assistant director, casting director, screenwriter, producer and director in Peruvian productions (Iguana Pro., MGZ Pro., Orbita Pro.), Mexican ones (Televisa, Televicine), Spanish ones (Televisión Española, Antena 3) and North American ones (Universal 1440 Entertainment and Concorde Cinema Group).
Carlos Bañuelos is a Spanish-Peruvian director and producer whose transition from acting to filmmaking has built one of the most promising careers in regional cinema. Starting out as the lead of the iconic production «Carmín» (seen in more than 30 countries), he made a strategic shift toward directing after graduating from the prestigious CUEC at UNAM in Mexico. This solid training, complemented by his studies at the Juan Carlos Corazza school in Madrid, gives him great sensitivity in directing actors. After years of experience on projects for companies such as Iguana Producciones and Inca Films, he developed his executive side by founding Órbita Producciones and later Happy Cat Producciones SAC. After successfully screening his play «Para eso están los amigos» in New York (distributed by 7 Palms Entertainment), the filmmaker now balances theatrical production with the development of his first fiction feature film «El Héroe de San Jacinto», positioning himself as a well-rounded filmmaker of high technical value.
