It denounces an ecological disaster barely covered by the media and neglected by various Latin American governments: the deforestation of the Amazon rainforest by Mennonite colonies.
Project Background
We have the seventh version of the script. We have received advice from screenwriters Luis María Fernández (Spanish) and Eduardo Rencurrell (Cuban/Colombian), as well as consulting from "The Black List," the international platform of Franklin Leonard, former executive of Leonardo DiCaprio.
We also benefited from the expertise of Olinda Silvano (leader of the Cantagayo Indigenous community), Tania Burstein (specialist in socio-environmental conflicts), and Ivette Sierra Praelli (journalist for the environmental newspaper Mongabay Latam, winner of the 2019 King of Spain Award).
The project was selected by the SGAE Foundation of Spain to participate in the co-production advisory workshop at the Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM) and by the producers and projects section of SAPCINE Ficcali, where it received five incentive awards.
